Sodium silicate, Sodium metasilicate. Also known as waterglass, liquid glass, or soluble glass. Used in manufacture of silica gels. Anti-caking. Used in egg preservation, where it offers a cost-effective solution for extending the shelf life of fresh eggs. Generally recognized as safe in foods.
