Description:
Sweetener, possible carcinogen, memory loss, can change the composition of bacteria in the gut.
Around 200 times sweeter than table sugar (Sucrose), but loses its sweetening power when heated strongly and in combination with acids. Aspartame is therefore unsuitable for cooking and baking.
WHO: Artificial sweeteners do not have an effect on weight loss and do not reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases. Long-term use of artificial sweeteners may have undesirable effects, such as increased risk of type 2diabetes, cardiovascular disease and mortality in adults.
