Description:

Carcinogen, banned in some countries, including the UK and the USA. Approved in EU. The sodium and calcium salts of cyclamic acid are used as artificial sweeteners under the name cyclamate. 30–50 times sweeter than sucrose (table sugar).

WHO: Artificial sweeteners do not have an effect on weight loss and do not reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases. Long-term use of artificial sweeteners may have undesirable effects, such as increased risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and mortality in adults.
